EDI Solutions

What is EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)?

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents between insurance claim payors and medical care providers. Electronic exchange in an EDI model replaces postal mail, fax, and email methods.

Our goal is to Improve two-way communication, lower claim costs and stimulate faster revenue cycles.

Offering a comprehensive jurisdictional ASC X12N 837 processing capability specialized for Workers’ Compensation and Auto Medical bills, Swiftivity is a premier electronic connection point in the Property & Casualty industry.

The EDI process requires formatting standards so computers are able to read and understand the documents without the need for human assistance. ANSI, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS and ebXML are examples of standards in use today. When businesses exchange EDI documents, they must agree on the specific EDI standard and version. In order to assure straight through processing of documents, an EDI translator is used to integrate data to internal applications. EDI Clearinghouse service providers, like Swiftivity, provide the expertise and platforms needed to assure that EDI handoffs occur smoothly.
